Vaqo

Vaqo, born Vakhtang Kantaria, is one of the most distinctive voices in the Georgian rock scene. Blending 60s pop-rock, blues, psychedelia, and Georgian folk, his music feels both nostalgic and forward-looking. He first gained recognition with the guitar duo Duet The W, before launching his solo career in 2017, often recording multi-layered tracks as a one-man band. His releases span labels in Georgia, Japan, Austria, and Turkey, and his songs receive airplay on rock stations around the globe. Deeply rooted in language and identity, including songs in Megrelian, Vaqo stands as a restless, genre-blurring force in contemporary Georgian music.
