The Norwegian–Icelandic duo of Farao and Special-K stages pop as a dazzling Gesamtkunstwerk – balancing irony and intimacy. Their second album »Infinite Wellness« is a deconstructive dance through Italo disco, Eurodance, synth-funk, and new-age aesthetics – complete with saxophone solos, Spanish guitars, and sultry whisper vocals. What might sound like kitsch is deliberate: postmodern pop that feels like Soviet-era aerobics videos re-scored with Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) and feminist eroticism. Tracks like »Mi Vuoi« and »Melting Away« nod to artists such as Alice Deejay and Uku Kuut – without slipping into retro pastiche. Ultraflex revel in the tension between trash and transcendence, between club and conceptual art. Their music is a playful exploration of surface and desire – seductive, playful, and full of subversive references. This time, they’re joined by FRZNTE – the fierce pole-dance performer with a tech-noir aesthetic who made her Pop-Kultur debut in 2021, known for her work with artists like Peaches and DJ Dixon. Also on stage: dancer and choreographer Selma Reynisdóttir, and the fabulous Kuntessa shimmering across the stage like stardust in motion. It’s going to be hot – a soundtrack for everyone who understands pop as a performative practice.
