The Underground Youth

For over a dozen albums, The Underground Youth have been crafting a sonic language where raw post-punk, melancholic romanticism, and psychedelic disorientation converge. What began as Craig Dyer‘s solo project has grown – with Olya Dyer, Leonard Kaage, and Samira Zahidi – into an organic collective. The relocation to Berlin left its mark: the songs now feel more expansive, more cinematic, colder. Yet Dyer remains faithful to the lo-fi spirit of the band’s early days. His influences – Bob Dylan, Joy Division, The Velvet Underground – resonate throughout, without ever tipping into mere quotation. Album titles like »Haunted«, »The Perfect Enemy For God« or »What Kind of Dystopian Hellhole Is This?« make it clear what’s at stake: music as a mirror of the present – a sonic state caught between isolation, reflection, and dissent.
