Ralph Heidel & guests: »anyways.onto better things«

Berlin-based composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Ralph Heidel consciously defies genre boundaries. His artistic practice is shaped by a finely tuned sense of dramaturgy and sonic architecture – whether in his own music, commissions for theatres, classical string quartets, or as a producer for artists like Apsilon, Casper, and others.
For the Pop-Kultur Festival, Heidel is developing a new format – a performative sound space that interweaves contemplative silence, fragile themes, and improvisational freedom. He searches for the essential – the unspoken that lingers between the notes. For Heidel, music is an exploration: of truth, connection, and resonance. His compositions don’t impose fixed forms – they create breathing atmospheres. A kind of future jazz that hardly exists elsewhere in Germany.
At the Palais of the Kulturbrauerei, the space itself becomes an instrument – a mutable body of resonance, where collective listening, not the individual, takes centre stage. A one-of-a-kind sonic experience between structure and openness.
