ÄTNA & ensemble reflektor

In recent years, there’s been no getting around ÄTNA in German pop. Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Inéz Schaefer and drummer Demian Kappenstein draw inspiration from electronic music, arena pop, jazz, and bold ventures into the experimental. Their debut album »Made by Desire«, released in 2020 on Humming Records, blended catchy hooks with driving beats, a touch of theatrics and a visual aesthetic floating somewhere between performance art and science fiction. Three albums and numerous collaborations later – including with artists as diverse as Solomun, MEUTE and Peter Fox – ÄTNA are now appearing at the Pop-Kultur Festival, accompanied by northern German chamber orchestra ensemble reflektor, also known for its genre-crossing adventures. A match that’s more than just harmonious. For this special collaboration, ÄTNA have re-arranged their songs – more orchestral, more angular, perhaps even more cinematic – and will present them live for the first time with ensemble reflektor. A true Pop-Kultur premiere!
